| We invite you to come in and take a tour of our facility at any time.
We pride ourselves on high quality, loving pet care for all our boarders. We want you to choose the correct boarding facility in which to leave your family member when you are away from home.
Our Tough Guidelines
Here are some commonly accepted guidelines for you to evaluate your pets' boarding facility:
- Go in unannounced and ask for a tour of the boarding facility! It is amazing how many people never take the time to see and smell where their pet will be housed. Judge the cleanliness critically. All animal boarding facilities will get messy at some point, but if staffed correctly, the boarding area should routinely be neat and not smell bad!
- You should meet the caretakers of the animals, often different from the person who greets you. After all, these are the people truly taking care of your animal, and their employer should be happy to have you meet them and ask questions.
- Examine the type of cage/kennel facility your pet will be in. Is it clean and in good repair? Is the space large enough for your pet's comfort? Is there adequate drainage and walls to prevent contact of dog to dog noses and potential excretions when the cage is cleaned? What about the surface of the floor when you have an older arthritic dog? Is the floor too slick or rough for them to comfortably lay down? Are your pets provided with bedding for their comfort?
Is there a fenced walk area for the pet's protection when exercising and using the bathroom? How often is the area cleaned and sprayed? Are the pets supervised when they are outside? How often are they exercised? In many places they are not!
- What about medical emergency concern? Is there a veterinarian on STAFF or on call? Are the boarders checked daily by a certified veterinary technician to look for potential health concerns?
Finally, and most importantly -
- Does the boarding facility require proof of current vaccination status from a licensed veterinarian? Are the animals checked for external parasites (fleas, ticks, ear mites) all of which can be transmitted to any other boarder? Are the boarders checked for intestinal parasites - these can be transmitted from dog to dog when they are in the exercise area?
If these common sense steps are taken and you, the owner, take responsibility to see that your pet's home away from home is safe and comfortable, then you and your pet will both be happy and comfortable with your decision.
The true standout in boarding facilities is the AHR PET HOTEL.
Dogs & Cats
Whether you have a small or large dog we can make your pet comfortable. We have space to board 3 family members in the same large suite if desired. Please ask us for a tour!
We take pride in our feline hotel with specially designed ocean view or outdoor view suites. We can easily accommodate 2-3 cats in each suite, so we do not break up the family while boarding. They are completely separate from any dog noises.
Why Our Facility is Special
Soothing music playing 24 hours a day, throughout the boarding facility, will calm and relax the most nervous of our boarders.
We have an environmentally controlled indoor facility with hi-tech air flow and exhaust systems that exceed all recommended standards for animal facilities. This means your pet has a healthier (less air borne spread of diseases) and a more comfortable "home-like" environment.
We will always be absolutely sure that any pet boarded in this facility is current on all vaccinations and free of any external parasites. We will administer the needed medications as indicated by the owner for our boarder's health. However, there is an additional cost for medicating boarders.
All dogs are walked a minimum of twice a day in our controlled exercise area. We offer extra playtime as often as you desire (there is an additional cost) and we will entertain your pet with his/her favorite game. You just let us know.
We can assure you that our caretakers are concerned animal lovers just like the customers who entrust us with their pets' care. We invite you to speak with them.
There is a big difference between boarding facilities and we invite you to come by and examine ours and ask questions. We know that the AHR PET HOTEL is where your pet should stay. In comfort and with the best loving care around!
Call us at (972)412-0101 and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our facility and take your reservation.
Taking care of your pet family member is our only business and not a part time job!
